I’ll be honest, y’all. I’m not too sure what to update you on. I’ve been working out regularly, which I’m happy about, but I’ve been sleeping in later than I’d like. I am excited about some connections I’ve made, but I am disappointed with how I’ve succumb to phone addiction. It’s weird when most of the world you know is only accessible via technology. It feels exhausting and too convenient all at the same time.
Now that I’m feeling more settled, I’m, like… Let’s organize some shit. Let’s finish the sweater you didn’t have time to finish at home. Let’s finish the book you said you’d finish before you got on the flight. Should I start a system for organizing my photos?
I’ve found myself watching old episodes of the Dick Cavett, which is my comfort food, my warm blanket, my safe space. I think I really just need a schedule. So… This week I will lean further into my job search. On Friday, I dropped off my CV and cover letter at a job I had applied to when I was still in the States. I hadn’t heard anything from them and the job was still posted, so I figured why not show up. I’m not expecting anything to come of it, but it at least felt like I had accomplished something by going in and showing face.
Sparknotes of the week: Another ISL class, checked out a different library, some interview practice, knit, watched Severance, saw The Brutalist, pints with a friend at two new (to me) pubs, went to Belfast with my flatmate and saw Cyndi Lauper live!

Miscellaneous observations from the week:
The standard paper size is different. U.S. — 8.5x11 in. // Ireland — A4 (8.27x11.67 in.)
Most grocery stores have self check out. Once you scan the item, you have to put it on the shelf next to you, because it needs to recognize the weight of the item before you can scan the next thing. This may be the case some places in the U.S., but I never experienced it. It does make sense, but as a former cashier… This drives me nuts. I pride myself on how quickly I can do that process, and this is really slowing things down for me.
They LOVE flavored chips here. Truly, I have to really look for just regular old sea salt. Examples: sour cream & onion, fire roasted buffalo wings, Irish cider vinegar & sea salt, sweet chili, cheese & red onion, sea salt & balsamic vinegar.
You should see if you can find Mustard & Pickle chips!! When I was in Paris several years ago they had them and they are one of my favorite flavors ever! Tasted like a sandwich. I’ve never been able to find them again though :(
Keogh’s Sweet Chili worth every penny 🙌
